Terms of Service
Clear terms for private letter tools.
These Terms explain the rules for accounts, the one-time Demo, paid digital products, Private Threads, Codes, payments, refunds, and acceptable use.
Effective Date: July 19, 2026
Last Updated: July 19, 2026
1. Operator and acceptance
SLOWKEPT is operated by Slowkept LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. By creating an account, entering a Private Thread, downloading content, or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms and the policies linked from them.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not accept users under 18, including users with parent or guardian consent.
2. What SLOWKEPT provides
SLOWKEPT provides digital guides, printables, Private Threads, Codes, timelines, private notes, account tools, and related support for physical letters. SLOWKEPT does not write the full letter for you and is not a chat, social network, relationship-monitoring service, or public archive.
The full letter should be written on paper or in a private tool you control. Do not upload, paste, scan, photograph, or send the full letter through SLOWKEPT or support.
3. Accounts and account security
You are responsible for accurate account information, a secure password, access to your email account, and activity performed through your account. Notify support promptly if you believe your account or a Code has been compromised.
SLOWKEPT may require email verification, multi-factor authentication for administrative actions, or additional verification when needed to protect an account, payment, Code, or entitlement.
4. First Private Thread Demo
Each verified account can successfully create one First Private Thread Demo, once. The sender and recipient can each add up to two shared updates in the Demo's single round. An Ongoing Private Thread is a separate one-time purchase. A completed Demo remains available as a read-only record with its original Code, while the paid Thread receives its own active Code.
A Demo is used only after the Demo Thread and its Code are successfully created. Participating as a recipient in another person's Demo does not use your own Demo eligibility. Deleting, archiving, abandoning, upgrading, refunding, or disputing a related paid product does not restore a used Demo.
SLOWKEPT may issue one audited replacement only when a verified technical failure made the original Demo unusable. A replacement is not available merely because someone changed their mind or wants to begin again.
5. Paid products and delivery
Paid guides, printables, and Ongoing Private Thread credits are one-time digital purchases unless checkout clearly states otherwise. Current prices, taxes, currency, and the content included with each purchase are displayed before checkout.
A browser return page is not proof of payment. Access is granted only after SLOWKEPT receives a trusted provider confirmation. A payment that is pending, under review, declined, blocked, or not confirmed does not create paid access.
6. Private Thread Codes
A Private Thread Code is a private credential for one Thread. Share it only with the intended participant, do not publish it, and do not use a Code to harass, impersonate, deceive, or gain unauthorized access.
There is no ordinary user self-service Code replacement control. In limited security or support circumstances, an authorized administrator may freeze or rotate a Code. Administrators do not receive the replacement full Code; only the Thread owner can recover it.
7. Recipient participation
A recipient may enter a valid Code and leave a permitted shared update without paying or creating an account first. Saving a Thread to an account is optional.
Opening a page does not notify the sender. Only updates deliberately submitted by a participant appear in the shared timeline. SLOWKEPT does not promise that a recipient will respond.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use SLOWKEPT for unlawful activity, threats, harassment, stalking, exploitation, impersonation, payment fraud, automated abuse, malware, unauthorized access, evasion of product limits, interference with the service, or infringement of another person's rights.
Do not test stolen payment credentials, publish Private Thread Codes, scrape private pages, bypass rate limits, or attempt to discover another person's account, private note, or Thread data.
9. Payments, fraud review, refunds, and disputes
Payments are processed by the checkout provider. SLOWKEPT may pause delivery or access when a provider marks a payment as elevated risk, under review, subject to an early fraud warning, refunded, reversed, or disputed.
An actionable Stripe early fraud warning may cause SLOWKEPT to suspend the related paid access and automatically request a full refund of the remaining refundable balance. This is a security response and is not an accusation that the account holder committed fraud.
A refund request does not itself change access. After a full refund is confirmed, unused paid credits and the refunded order's guide or printable grants may be revoked. A paid Thread already created from that order becomes read-only, while existing shared history and each participant's existing private notes remain available. Unrelated valid purchases remain unaffected.
A payment dispute may temporarily suspend related access. If the provider resolves the dispute in SLOWKEPT's favor, eligible access is restored without resetting limits or creating duplicate credits. If the payment is finally reversed, the confirmed-refund access rules apply. Partial refunds without a clear item mapping are reviewed manually. Manual reviews are typically completed within 1–2 business days. A payment provider's own decision, investigation, or settlement timing may take longer.
10. Digital-content license and intellectual property
SLOWKEPT and its guides, designs, text, software, visual identity, and downloadable materials are protected by intellectual-property laws. A valid purchase grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the purchased digital content for your own private letter practice.
You may print personal copies as allowed by the product description. You may not resell, redistribute, publish, sublicense, remove ownership notices, or use SLOWKEPT materials to create a competing product without written permission.
You retain responsibility for and rights in the words you write outside SLOWKEPT and for the limited content you deliberately submit to a timeline or private note, subject to the permissions needed for SLOWKEPT to store and display that content to the intended account or participant.
11. Suspension and termination
SLOWKEPT may restrict, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, prevent fraud or abuse, comply with law or provider requirements, investigate a security incident, enforce these Terms, or maintain the service.
Where practical, SLOWKEPT will distinguish between a temporary security hold and a final loss of paid access. Financial and security facts are not erased when an account is closed, and necessary records may remain under the Privacy Policy.
12. No professional or emergency service
SLOWKEPT is not therapy, medical care, legal advice, financial advice, crisis support, or an emergency service. It does not evaluate a relationship, guarantee an outcome, or determine whether sending a letter is safe or appropriate.
13. Availability and changes
SLOWKEPT may add, remove, pause, or change features, providers, prices, and product descriptions. Reasonable efforts are made to maintain the service, but uninterrupted or error-free availability is not guaranteed.
Material changes to these Terms will be posted with a revised date and may also be communicated through the service or by email. Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms means you accept them, except where law requires a different form of consent.
14. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SLOWKEPT is provided on an 'as available' basis without warranties not expressly stated in these Terms. Mandatory consumer warranties that cannot be excluded remain unaffected.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SLOWKEPT and its owners, employees, and service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, relationship outcomes, or loss caused by sharing a Code with the wrong person.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SLOWKEPT's total liability arising from the service will not exceed the amount you paid to SLOWKEPT for the product giving rise to the claim during the 12 months before the event, or 100 US dollars if you made no payment. This limit does not apply where the law does not permit it.
15. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of Wyoming and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer protections and forums that cannot be waived remain available.
Questions may be sent to support@slowkept.com. Before opening a payment dispute, please use the purchase-support process so SLOWKEPT can investigate access or billing problems.
